Matthew Bartholomew Bartkowski is a product of his father’s imagination—not to mention dad’s work ethic, stubbornness, independent spirit, sense of humor, and misplaced confidence. After years of wandering through other varied endeavors, he has returned to writing, as his father encouraged him to do long ago.

MBB now lives with his own family in one of those American states claiming to be united. His education and qualifications as a novelist are underwhelming but ultimately not of great relevance. He simply has a story to share. What jobs he previously worked (a hod-carrier does what exactly?), how he spends his free time, which team he lives and dies with (let’s go Oakland!)—these have no bearing on this story. They are not part of the story at all.
