"Rupture State is a page-turning thriller that does a good job of blending together the high stakes action of the plot--such as a building collapse and conspiracy theories--with one man's guilty desperation to clear his name. Otto is an intriguing narrator, and the narrative voice does a good job of blending his very analytical thought process with his very human thoughts and feelings. His work as an architect also serves to drive the story forward, and readers understand the horror and sadness Otto feels when he considers himself responsible for the deaths of those crushed by the collapsing restaurant. Otto and Sam share great chemistry, and her reintroduction into the story (after the second explosion) serves as a well-crafted and believable coincidence. Otto's personal transformation too, from a frustrated, blacklisted architect (and falsely accused terrorist) to a man on a mission to save his home is well crafted, believable, and sure to keep readers engaged."
